AM and MP Visits

Welsh Government Health Minister Lesley Griffiths AM has visited the Co-operative Pharmacy in Clifton Street, Roath, Cardiff to learn more about the roll out of the new Discharge Medicines Service and the Inhaler Re-cycling Scheme.  Branch Manager Faz Ahmed explained how the two services were generating considerable saving for the NHS in Wales and how community pharmacy could contribute so much more if only Health Boards would engage more with CPW.

Jeff Cuthbert AM visited Lloyds pharmacy in his Caerphilly constituency during June 2011. Jeff was supporting the National Diabetes Public Health Campaign, which provided patients with a paper-based, confidential consultation and assessment of their risk score for Type 2 Diabetes.

Welsh Health Minister Edwina Hart visited the Nigel Williams Pharmacy in Lower Tumble, Llanelli on Tuesday 12th April as part of the Welsh Labour Party’s Assembly election campaign. During the visit the Minister gave a series of media interviews in which she highlighted the potential of community pharmacy based services and expressed support to explore how best the community pharmacy network could be utilised to the benefit of people across Wales.
