Pivotell

Contractors are advised to carefully consider all available information before deciding whether to dispense medication into any type of automated medication dispenser.

Some Local Health Boards now commission services and will fund the dispensing of medication into these devices.
e.g. BCUHB Domicilary Care Service Pilot

Further information in relation to Pivotell, draft SOPs, dispensing aids and training materials can be found on the Pivotell website:

Some contractors have raised concerns in relation to filling of these devices and some of these were covered by a CPW communication:

Contractors are advised to consider all issues and reminded that the final decision to fill any device (or blister packs etc) rests with the professional judgement of the dispensing pharmacist and not with the LHB or Social Services.
